Hey guys and gals.
The trend for massive multiplayer projects is still going strong, which
means plenty of exciting games await us in 2025. Of course, these days, there's no guarantee on
timelines when it comes to MMORPG development, but in this video, I'll tell you about the most
anticipated games in this genre expected in 2025. But first, here are the winners of
the last giveaway; I'll reach out to you right after this video.
As always,
at the end of the video, I'll announce the games we’ll be giving away in the next one. Let's start with Past Fate.
This game has a small budget but brings something unique to the table. It emphasizes
strategic gameplay, allowing players to hire armies, station them to defend forts, or lead
them in battles to conquer new territories and build their own empire. Another key feature is its
epic naval battles.
But Past Fate isn’t all about fighting. For those who prefer a more peaceful
approach, there’s also PvE content like fishing, building farms, exploring ancient ruins,
and studying spells. The character class choices are currently a bit unusual—players can
choose from a warrior, mage, priest, pirate, or necromancer. However, the developers have promised
to expand the list as the release date nears. The Quinfall.
Another MMO with a medieval setting blended with classic fantasy elements,
The Quinfall promises a huge open world with underwater expeditions, around 11 professions,
a versatile character editor, and the ability to raid caravans. It also offers interesting ways to
interact with the world. You can capture cities, and the method of attack depends on the location.
For example, if you want to claim an island in the ocean, you'll need to use ships. The game allows
for exploration both on land and underwater, with terrestrial and underwater
bosses available to fight. Drakantos.
A Brazilian indie studio has decided to capture the attention of fans of
retro pixel art, working on this free-to-play MMORPG with a 16-bit visual style.
The developers
promise diverse locations, hundreds of quests, and extensive multiplayer options, where
players can choose one of 21 heroes. The game also features large-scale battles, like a 10-phase
boss fight that requires significant teamwork. You can expect PvP battles, a marketplace, a guild
system, hundreds of quests, and dungeons with bosses. Drakantos is expected to launch on PC and
mobile platforms in 2025 as a free-to-play title. Bellatores.
This is a high-budget MMORPG developed by a South Korean company using
Unreal Engine 5, with a classic target-based combat system. According to the developers,
they’ve taken great care in building a world rich with content. The faction system, currently
featuring six factions, allows battles to unfold almost anywhere. The open world has no instances
or loading screens, and players from different factions can freely engage in combat, fight over
key locations, and participate in sieges.
The game does not have character classes, levels, or item
attribute dependencies; skills improve with usage. Light No Fire.
A British studio, known for its controversial game No Man’s Sky,
is back with a new title. This time, instead of a vast universe, the game will feature a single
planet approximately the size of Earth. It’ll be interesting to see how well the idea of fitting
players into 510 million square kilometers plays out and how the technical challenges are handled.
But it’s not just the scale that’s generating buzz; the gameplay is set to be rich and
varied, featuring survival elements, crafting, base building, exploring procedurally generated
terrain, solo quests, and group raids—all in a low-fantasy, medieval-inspired setting
with minimal magic but hordes of monsters.
Ashfall.
This shooter incorporates social elements similar to The Division. Set in
a distant future where AI went rogue and launched a nuclear war against humanity, the world is
left in ruins. The main character is one of the survivors tasked with finding a way to save
humanity. Players will explore barren deserts, abandoned cities, and bustling survivor
settlements, facing mutants, extreme weather, and AI remnants along the way. The gameplay
is fast-paced with intense firefights, while objectives involve completing missions,
clearing locations, and gathering resources. Perfect New World.
This fantasy MMORPG, based on the Perfect World universe, is being developed for PC and next-gen
consoles with a focus on action and exploration. At launch, players will have access to three
classes and three races.
The game offers an array of customization options like hairstyles, facial
features, hair color, tattoos, and more, with both adjustable parameters and ready-made presets.
The combat system emphasizes action, and each class has a unique talent tree. By unlocking new
talents, players can discover combos and develop their own combat style. The game focuses
on dungeon exploration with other players. Bitcraft.
This MMORPG with sandbox elements allows players to interact
in efforts to revive an ancient civilization. The developers promise to focus on skills,
construction, crafting, farming, trading, and exploration, offering a range of activities.
Players start in the wilderness and gradually build more complex structures.
There’s also a
storyline, conveyed through the discovery of special artifacts and other items. The game world
has a rich ancient past waiting to be uncovered. Hytale.
For fans of Minecraft, Hytale may be the MMO to watch. The developers
aim to combine the vast sandbox feel with MMORPG elements, allowing players to complete storyline
quests, hunt boss monsters, explore dungeons, and build freely. Servers will be split into PvE
and PvP content with built-in anti-cheat measures. The game also features crafting, allowing
players to grow plants, tame animals, and even build vehicles. Content creators
will have access to animation, modeling, and in-game filming tools
to create and share content. World of Jade Dynasty.
This MMORPG has been in development for over eight years, switching engines and going through
multiple closed tests. The developers now promise it will be ready for release in 2025. Built on
Unreal Engine 5, it aims to showcase stunning graphics with advanced technology.
The game will
feature a vast seamless world, open-world puzzles, both land and flying mounts, diverse dungeons,
PvP arenas, and massive 200-vs-200 player battles. One of the highlights will be large-scale
PvP wars that include flying warships. Path of Exile 2.
Many believe this game could surpass and even eclipse Diablo 4. The original
Path of Exile surprised players with its depth, especially as a free game, and the sequel promises
even more, especially with enhanced graphics. The developers are working hard to meet the release
timeline, though it’s still early to say for sure. So far, we know it will feature a six-act
storyline, numerous character progression options, and a wide array of new enemies and bosses.
In
many ways, Path of Exile 2 will be an upgraded version of the original, which remains
immensely popular among fans of the genre. ArcheAge Chronicles.
One of the most anticipated games in recent years, this title aims to reboot its
predecessor and eventually replace it. It promises the same setting, timeline, locations, and even
key neutral characters. The main difference in the new game will be a shift in focus from
group-based play to individual storytelling, centering on your character’s role in these events
rather than a grand battle of good versus evil. While the focus narrows, the world itself will
grow—not just in scale but also in scope. Players will be able to build not only forts and farms
but also entire cities, inviting other players and NPCs. The game will feature six races at
launch, 14 professions, and 300 subclasses. Chrono Odyssey.
Currently, one of the most anticipated high-budget MMORPGs, Chrono Odyssey is
a medieval fantasy where players are divided into factions. Each player will wield multiple types of
weapons in combat, emphasizing an action-oriented fighting system. The developers have also
introduced unique time-manipulation mechanics. In real-time MMO events, hundreds of players
can participate, and social interactions will differ significantly from other online games.
The class system will be flexible, allowing players to switch between different roles.
The
game is being developed on Unreal Engine 5. These upcoming games promise to captivate both
long-time genre fans and new players. Hopefully, the developers will deliver on their
promises and launch all these titles in 2025. Subscribe to the channel, hit the like button,
